About Jetpack Joyride
Jetpack Joyride is a legendary side-scrolling endless runner developed by Halfbrick Studios. You play as Barry Steakfries, an ordinary guy who breaks into a top-secret laboratory and steals a machine gun jetpack. Your goal: fly as far as possible through the corridor-filled lab while collecting coins, completing missions, and avoiding the increasingly lethal security systems trying to stop you.
What elevates Jetpack Joyride above a simple endless runner is its mission system and the sheer variety of vehicles you can ride. Collect enough coins mid-run to afford a spin on the slot machine at run's end, which can unlock temporary vehicles: a teleporting bird, a gravity-reversing cloud, a mechanical dragon, a giant robot. Each vehicle handles completely differently and transforms how you play the next stretch of the level.
How to Play Jetpack Joyride
Barry moves forward automatically. Holding the screen (or mouse button) fires the jetpack, lifting Barry upward. Releasing causes him to drop. The lab fills with three types of hazards: Zappers — rotating electrical obstacles you must weave around. Missiles — launched at Barry and tracking his vertical position, requiring you to dodge by moving quickly up or down. Laser beams — that sweep the room horizontally and must be timed through.
Coins are scattered everywhere. Collect them to unlock new outfits, jetpack skins, and gadgets that give in-run bonuses. Three active missions track your progress simultaneously; completing missions earns XP and levels you up for bigger rewards.

Tips & Tricks for Jetpack Joyride
- Stay mid-height as your default: Keeping Barry vertically centered gives you maximum reaction distance to both rising zappers below and descending lasers above.
- Read missile smoke trails early: Missiles show a smoke trail when launched. Track the trail immediately and move in the opposite vertical direction from the missile's path.
- Grab the gravity suit: The gravity-reducing vehicle is often the best for long runs — gentle, predictable movement through dense obstacle sections.
- Check your missions before playing: If a mission asks you to "travel 500m in the air," prioritize flying high. Knowing your mission helps you play toward it rather than discovering them after the run.
